Submission Guidelines for

DigiFest® Temecula

To ensure a smooth submission and review process, please carefully review the following guidelines before submitting your work.

Our goal is to create a fair, accessible, and professional experience for all participants while maintaining the highest standards of creative excellence.

General Submission Guidelines

  • All projects must be 30 minutes or less

  • Submissions are accepted exclusively through FilmFreeway

  • Work must be original and not previously submitted to DigiFest®

  • Maximum of 5 entries per category per submitter

  • Entries must be final cuts (no works-in-progress)

  • Projects must be digitally accessible for judging (Vimeo or secure screener preferred)

  • Submission fees must be completed before deadlines

Submission Deadlines

  • Submissions Open: October 1, 2025

  • Early Deadline: February 1, 2026

  • Late Deadline: March 8, 2026

We encourage early submissions to ensure proper processing and review.

Submission Fees

Early Deadline (Oct 1, 2025 – Feb 1, 2026):

  • Professional: $20 USD

  • Student: $10 USD (school name required)

  • Student (18 & Under): $5 USD (school name required)

Late Deadline (Feb 2, 2026 – Mar 8, 2026):

  • Professional: $25 USD

  • Student: $15 USD (school name required)

  • Student (18 & Under): $10 USD (school name required)

Category-Specific Requirements

To ensure accurate judging, please submit your work under the appropriate category and follow the requirements below:

Film & Video

  • Maximum runtime: 30 minutes

  • Non-English submissions must include English subtitles

  • Projects may be previously released or available online

  • If selected, DCP format is encouraged but not required

Music & Podcasts / Audiobooks

  • Audio format submissions only

  • Maximum runtime: 30 minutes

Photography & Digital Art & Illustration

  • Digital files must be uploaded with submission

  • Include relevant technical details (equipment, software, or process used)

Website Design

  • Submit screenshots of the homepage

  • Include the live website URL within submission details

Game Design

  • Submit under the VR/XR/Immersive category

  • Provide detailed project information to support evaluation

Acting

  • Maximum total runtime: 3 minutes

  • Only one actor may be submitted per entry

  • Clearly identify the actor and role in submission details

Scriptwriting

  • Maximum length: 30 pages

  • Must follow industry-standard formatting

  • PDF format only

  • Treatments will not be accepted

Additional Submission Information

  • Submissions must be fully completed at the time of entry

  • Projects may be submitted to multiple categories; however, each category requires a separate submission and fee

  • DigiFest® Temecula does not require premiere status

Selection & Exhibition

  • Submitters will be notified of their status via FilmFreeway

  • Not all submissions are guaranteed selection or exhibition

  • Selected works may be presented during the festival or included in special screenings
